Why We Exist
WHAT?! Southern City actually has a purpose?! You betcha, my fellow crazed DBZ otakou's! What, did you think Arialyn and Tially just suddenly started making this site for the heck of it? No! In fact, we didn't really discover our purpose until recently!
Multimedia. The big M. Every popular DBZ site has it in one shape or form: scans, movie clips, music, screen captures, etc. It's become apparent that many (not all) sites have multimedia, and really nothing else. Southern City was created to be different -- to feature humor for entertainment instead of movie clips of Gokou transforming in Super Saiya-jin for the first time (which we've all seen about a million times each!).
The DBZ Web Community is probably without a doubt the largest community dedicated to a anime series on the web, outnumbering sites about Sailor Moon or even Pokemon. What's a community without a little creativy? Every site needs something to keep people coming back, and Southern City has it's witty humor. Our purpose is to prove you don't need multimedia to survive, and sometimes laughter is the best cure!
Though our beginning was a little rough, we've definately come a long way, and our history is as complicated as many other site's. We hope that we'll be open for a long time, and more and more people will be introduced to our insanity. In the beginning of Southern City, we didn't realize our potential with our humor section, and now we're quite aware of our originality, and we believe that one day, the name 'Southern City' won't just be associated with the city in the series (namely, in the Andriod/Jinzouningen Saga), it will be associated with the crazy otakou's we all are!!
